The idea for an institution like Wings first came to mind when our founder, Neeta Kanoria, found herself in jeopardy as she navigated the city searching for teachers for her daughter’s co-curricular skill-building. She observed a lack of organizations and a flawed curriculum, and that was when she set out to build a solution of her own. Therefore, wings was founded in 2016 as an activity centre, and later that year, a Pre-school was added. Soon after, daycare was also started, enabling working parents to feel safe and not worry about their child’s development or be forced to choose between children and work.
As children flocked to this one-stop solution for a myriad of co-curriculum and trust in parents grew, Wings kept on adding more activities, camps and workshops before branching out in 2018 and opening a second centre in the city, and following it up with a third centre the next year.
At the onset of 2020, Wings, having three centres in Kolkata and offering 25+ activities, had developed into a trusted brand name where parents felt safe and confident about sending their children for holistic growth. Just then, the pandemic hit and our classes were forced to go online.
